Sentence Builder App Reviews

My 12 year old son with autism LOVES this little app. I wasnt using it to teach him sentences; I was using it more as proof that what was going into his head was sticking in there and he could demonstrate it using this app. Small scale but very neat with cute animations. What would totally make this app rock is if you could add in your own sentences and pictures to customize to your own experience and needs.

Maybe for 4th grade or higher. I really prefer Sentence Builder app as it has pictures and each word is dragged down to sequence a correct sentence.

A nice app- very easy to use and entertaining. A great tool for young readers. My wife teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) and is excited to try it with her adult students.

We purchased this program for our ASD daughter and she loves playing. It has a very simple but fun interface that keeps her engaged. The combination of visual and audio ques is really helping her put together grammatically correct sentences. Our son, who is not ASD, enjoys playing too.

This is an engaging app with entertaining graphics and reinforcers. It is intuitive and easy to use, while systematically teaching and reinforcing grammatically correct sentence form.

I love so much about this app! The dial format is engaging. I love the quick animations for correct answers. The animations are cute, funny, and quick! There is a mans voice that reads the sentence aloud after the correct answer and tells you to try again if you get it wrong. He speaks slow and clear and sounds real (not a computerized voice). The graphics are simple but interesting. This can be used to address a variety of syntax errors in speech therapy. This would also be a nice way for kids to practice their syntax (grammar) at home. As a speech therapist, I can also target vocabulary by expanding on these sentences and pictures. Basic concepts can be targeted (example sentence: He is skiing....around the, up the, in the, before the, down the.....hill). This app could be especially helpful for ESL students and SLI students.

If you have a higher functioning autistic child that is leaving off the small words of sentences or using the wrong words like one of mine is, this is a great app for him/her to get accustomed to putting those small words in with and the appropriate words. Liked it enough that I bought an iPad and the iPad version. As a foster parent with 7 autistic children in the home, I love the work put into programs like this. Keep up the good work! Also love the positive feedback given in the program!

This is a wonderful app and I use it to help my daughter to learn how to use words such as "the", "a", etc...great for use with children who have autism and typical children who need a little help!

I have just started using Sentence builder during my speech therapy sessions with Kindergarten students. This is a nice application for working on grammar. It is engaging for the students to use during therapy. My students are not able to read but I am still able to use the application to target grammatical skills. I have the students describe the picture and I build the sentence to match their response. If the student has difficulty I am able to give them the different options as clues. The visual reinforcement is very exciting for my young students.

I teach English in Japan and this is one of the great tools that I use for both adult and kids classes. Its a fun way to practice simple grammar skills and the kids just love getting handed "Senseis iPhone" to "play" with. By having possible answers on the wheel, it allows the students to work through not only the correct sentences, but also to see some of the common mistakes that they make and realize why they are mistakes.

I liked the old voice better. This one is too nasal and has a strange inflection. As an SLP who uses this often, I notice!

I use this program with my learning disabled students. They enjoy the ease of use and are having fun making sentences! I am seeing improvements in their writing, more correct use of connecting words and endings!

Great app my students love it!!!!

As an AT specialist it has been hard to find apps that work on language concepts. I have been successfully using all of the Mobile Education Apps-Sentence Builder, Language Builder, Conversation Builder and Question Builder. These apps offer a wide range of concepts: grammar, story sequencing, sentence formulation and "wh" questions. I love the ability to keep track of how my students are doing during each session. As a teacher trainer I feel very comfortable recommending these apps to colleagues.

I love this app and the reinforcers are nice for motivation. The only things I dont like are the stimulus pictures look like bad 80s clip art and the boys voice is very hyponasal and depressing. I expect more at this price.

Been using this on my iPod, waiting for the ipad2. I have a 12 yr old son with autism, and I can already see how this app is going to help him learn language and sentence structure!

I am a Speech Therapist and have found this app to be very beneficial in identifying incorrect grammar and building the ability to correct it. The kids enjoy manipulating the words and enjoy the immediate reinforcers. The app keeps them engaged and they dont even realize that they are learning!

I have several of this developers apps, and they are all very engaging! I have especially had success using this app with ESL students. We discuss the differences between he/she them/they and so on. The voice used is very pleasant, you can choose different levels of difficulty too. My students look forward to learning with this app!

My son that is delayed with Language is now starting to be more talkative and his sentences are better. He loves playing with it and now he plays with the level 3 like a champ. I just got this app 2 months ago and been just letting my son play with it for maximum of 10 minutes a day 5 days a week. Soon I will purchase the question builder. :)
